Shelly and Mo's Wedding

I went to Cleveland for my mom's cousin's wedding. The bride and groom were Shelly and Mohit. There were 4 events. The Mendhi, the Sangeet, the ceremony, and the reception.

Mendhi is brown paint that when you take off what you painted appears on your hand. There were two Mendhis. One was for the bride, me, and Sam. The other was for everybody else. There was also a puja where everybody was singing and praying.

At the Sangeet, lots of people did dances for the bride and groom. Here's a video of our dance:

After all the performances, we had dinner and then everybody got on the dance floor and danced. Mom's cousin Mayank put me on his shoulders to get me on to the dance floor. It was fun and I got really sweaty.

The next day was the Wedding. First there was the baraat, which is the groom riding on a horse and everybody dancing around him. Next was the ceremony and then a lunch.

Last was the reception, but Sam and I didn't go. Mom and Dad took pictures though, so you can see what happened!

Family Trip to Breckenridge

I went to Breckenridge, Colorado. We went with my mom's family. We went horseback riding, fishing, and to the Breckenridge fun park.

When we went horseback riding my horse's name was Star. We went up a four-mile trail through the mountains on ski trails. I got to steer Star by myself. Sam road his own horse, but he had to be led by the guide.

When we went fishing on a pontoon boat in a man-made lake that was built to give water to Denver (Lake Dillon). We did not catch anything, but I got to try lure fishing and bobber fishing.

At the Breckenridge Fun Park, I got to go in a maze and on an alpine slide. I thought the slide was really fun, especially when we went fast around the turns.

I hope I can come back! Thanks Naniji and Nanaji for a great trip!

Summer '09 Family Adventure #3 - a reunion in Vermont

After our long journey through New England, we finally arrived at The Mountain Top Inn near Killington, VT to meet up with Nanaji, Naniji, Amit, Chris, Nellie, and Anya. We were also surprised by our Toronto family and they kept us very entertained so Mommy and Daddy could have a break too. Dad keeps describing the trip as summer camp- we rode horses (even Nanaji and Naniji rode horses), we played shuffleboard, we played tennis, we went to the lake (still too chilly to swim), and we enjoyed some great food. I especially enjoyed spending time with Anya-- I'm so happy she can finally run around with me! We also got to celebrate Nanaji's birthday and Mommy's birthday!

Thanksgiving 2008 in Cleveland

I very much enjoyed my first Thanksgiving, especially since we got to spend it in Cleveland with Nanaji, Naniji, Mosaji, Mosiji, Mamaji, and Anya (I'm sure there is an alternative name that I'm supposed to use for Anya, but no one has pushed that one yet). Dad and Amit made a delicious dinner that everyone else seemed to enjoy very much (maybe I'll get to try it next year?). I can't wait to see everyone again soon!
